Shea butter is another of natures amazing gifts for moisturization of the skin. Very rich and protecting and even has an SPF factor (although that can vary quite a bit and the max is around 6). INCREDIBLE for dry, cracked feet and heels and people with very dry skin...Our shea butter is NOT refined, bleached or deodorized and therefore maintains it's natural healing properties and characteristic nutty smell...

glass bottle w/ pumpWhat I love the most about this soap is it's extremely gentle properties and lack of harsh, synthetic ingredients. And the lather is amazing!! Highly moisturizing, It helps to smooth out dry spots, ease wrinkles and calm skin flares, including acne. Literally, there are 4 ingredients to black soap and, natively (the Togo region of Ghana, Africa), it is used on newborns to cleanse them.
Ingredients: Distilled Water and Fair Trade African Black Soap (Shea Butter, Palm Oil and the ash from Plantain leaves and the Agow Tree).
Due to the lack of emulsifiers, the ingredients will naturally separate, so please be sure to 'swirl', not shake, before using...If you shake it, it will redecorate your bathroom and you will be irritated with me!

What a beautiful tree...and useful at that! Indigenous to several parts of Africa (mainly central, both east and west) and a good source of food, fat and income for many native africans, particularly women. The tree begins bearing fruit at around 15 years old and continues to bear fruit until around 200 years old! The fruit, which resembles a large plum, takes 4-6 months to ripen, and bears a very oil rich nut from which the shea butter is extracted by hand...Not all shea nuts produce the same oil and the texture can vary from region to region...
